Cambie Skirt

I was originally going to make this awesome red corduroy with elephants into a pencil skirt. I picked up a pattern that had modifications for “curvy” figures, and was feeling optimistic.  Until I went to cut it out and realized I bought the wrong size.  Der.  So I improvised and made an A-line skirt using…

Roxanne Blouse

I should have trusted my initial instinct on this.  I wanted to like it, but I knew it would not be flattering on me.  But after seeing other curvy women singing the praises of their Roxanne blouses, I got all excited and made one.  And… I’ve been trying to convince myself that I like it…

McCall’s M6612 – View A

I’m pleasantly surprised that although this only took me a day to make this, I’m actually happy with it.  I’m wearing it for girls night out tonight. This is the second dress I made from this (stay tuned for a post on the maxi length cowl-neck black dress).  I watched most of the second season…

Halloween Costume

So… I got into watching Game of Thrones this year, and I pretty much love it.  Binge-watched through Seasons 1 and 2, and improved friendships with people who had HBO to watch Season 3.   Halloween is (apparently) a big holiday here in my new home of Madison, WI, so I started thinking about it…
